Introduction

Zircom is one of the market leaders in business broking in Western Australia since 1991. We have earned an enviable reputation for integrity and professionalism in the sale of all types of businesses to both private and corporate buyers. As a consequence, a large majority of business is generated by referrals from either satisfied customers, or accountants and solicitors. The Zircom team are licensed business agents who share a combination of long industry experience and practical first hand knowledge in many industries and business arenas.

We are capable of negotiating an acquisition, merger or joint venture at board room level but are also comfortable in marketing strong family businesses to local, eastern states and overseas buyers.

The team consists of:

David Knowles  (Director/Senior Partner)
Educated at Scotch College, David then spent five years cost accounting with an international mining company during the construction and development of a major mining facility.  Being very familiar with construction, manufacturing and mining processes, he established an engineering and industrial products distribution business supplying equipment, machinery and consumables to the manufacturing, fabrication, construction and mining industries.  His business interests grew to include a branch network and distribution base throughout Australia.  Some fifteen years later, David's business interests were acquired by a public company.  He stayed on as a senior executive for a further ten years, responsible for negotiation of acquisitions throughout Australia, tendering major supply contracts, general management of operations and overseas distribution agreements.  David developed several of his own businesses before acquiring Zircom in 2001 and is now director and senior partner.  David has many contacts within a variety of industries and has a full understanding of the operation of most industry segments, including franchising.  He is comfortable dealing with public and private companies and negotiating acquisitions, mergers or special projects of a diverse nature. David is a current council member of the Business Brokers Association (WA) Inc.

David Screaigh (Director/Licensee)
David spent six years in the accounting profession, initially with international firm KPMG, then with a local WA firm where he focused on auditing, taxation and business advice.  During the next 20 years he obtained a range of skills and experience in the commercial sector, which included Company Secretary for a Perth radio station, Commercial Manager of an ASX listed gold mining company, Financial Controller of a large group of motor vehicle dealerships (turnover $200m plus) and Managing Director of WA's largest luxury motor vehicle dealership.  David was also a Coach and Partner with a national business coaching firm, during which he coached small, medium and large private businesses, franchises and ASX listed public companies.  He has been involved in numerous business acquisitions and business sales over the past 20 years in different roles, including as adviser, negotiator, buyer and seller.  David holds a Bachelor of Business degree and a Diploma of Property (Real Estate), is a Chartered Accountant, a Certified Practicing Accountant, Licensed Real Estate and Business Agent and a Certified Practicing Business Broker. 

Gail
Gail is our Administration Manager and P.A. to David Knowles.  Gail has an accounting background and has owned and operated several successful small to medium businesses.

Leanne
Leanne is PA to David Screaigh and also assists with licencing and trust account matters.   Leanne is a qualified CPA and has been involved with a number of businesses in an operating and/or ownership role.
